My Cars

Up My Riva My Niva's

As you can well guess I have a great affection for my cars and they pay me back in kind. They are reliable and comfortable and very fuel efficient for their technology. My love of Lada's started after a chance purchase of my Niva from an old chap who could not get his head around the work required to get it back on the road. It was bought for a  princely sum  but did include some new spares. The car needed a new steering box, sills, ball joints, gearbox, driveshaft gaiters and a really good service. Now all done and with a working heater and repainted bonnet the car is used daily to travel to and from work and at weekends for off roading with my local 4x4 club. The chance then came up to purchase my estate, the car had stood for eight years but had only 180 miles on the clock, most of which appeared to be the delivery mileage from Lada itself. All the paperwork was still with the vehicle and it even had the paper foot well mats in place. This car I feel is maybe one of the best in the country and has now covered a happy 11500 miles. The great thing about these cars is that they are an honest home service car that requires no dealer equipment just a good set of spanners and lots of tea. The tale now continues with my new purchase of a 1.7i Hussar or two.
